Sponsorship

Sponsorship has long played an important role in raising the international profile of the RBS brand. Increasingly, too, we are finding ways to share the benefits of our sponsorships with communities around the world.

From breathing new life into neighbourhood sports facilities to inspiring young people through golf or museum visits, we want to use sponsorship to build a better tomorrow for local communities.

Today, our sponsorships embrace, rugby, golf, cricket and other sporting personalities, along with the Museum of London.

Golf

RBS has a long history in supporting golf at all levels of the game. Today, this association continues with our enduring relationship with golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, to our increasing support for the grass roots through The First Tee organisation, helping teach golf's values to communities which would not normally be exposed to the sport. With Jack being our leading ambassador for The First Tee, we are able to project the reach of this very successful program and raise the profile of the work that the countless chapters do across the world. Through the RBS First Tee mentoring program, young people are given the support they need to rebuild their lives. With Jack, The First Tee and RBS, together we are helping to build a better future for countless young people.

Cricket

Record-breaking batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been an RBS ambassador for the last three years.

To celebrate Sachin’s remarkable career, he has selected photographs depicting 21 of the greatest moments in his career. RBS has created a gallery of these images, which tours the world with him. Watch the video clips in which he talks about these great moments.

In partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board, we have also developed NatWest CricketForce, which aims to rejuvenate cricket facilities throughout England and Wales and has become the largest volunteering programme in the country.

The Museum of London

The Museum of London tells the story of one of the world’s greatest cities – and in 2011 RBS became its official Learning Partner.

This support has allowed the museum to maintain its celebrated learning programmes, which have given hundreds of thousands of London schoolchildren access to the largest collection of archeological archives in Europe.

Other sponsorships

We also sponsor tennis players Andy and Jamie Murray and are the main supporters of their new Set4Sport initiative, designed by Judy Murray to encourage more activity amongst children. We continue with our long association with three-time Formula One World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart.
